A healthy north Indian dinner
the advantages of living in a society is you get to know many cultures and food too.
of course there are also pitfalls in living with other state people.
even when we lived in london, a north indian rajasthani girl lived in the apartment above us. I used to make some tamilnadu foods and she some rajasthani and we used to exchange.
in the current society that we are living, I was trying to implement this. But too much politics. So found a very few people who have the same mind set as us.
One if them, made a methi roti and a chutney to go with it alongside some legume gravy.
methi roti was excellent but I fell for the chutney.
it was made from fresh radish pounded together with a green chilli, a நெல்லிக்காய் amla or indian gooseberry and salt.
I ate the roti with the chutney only and a big fan of it.
and a frequent one in our house too.
peel off the skin of the radish, cut into small pieces that can go into your pestle, remove the seed from amla, and remove the stem from green chilli. Add crystal salt. And pound altogether. Just serve with hot roti with ghee dribbled on it. Heavenly.
