Cleaning inside a kettle. tried and tested
nowadays cleaning open areas itself has become a challenge. Cleaning bottles especially steel, silver, copper everything has become more difficult. at least for me here in Bangalore. getting South Indian helpers has become a big challenge and for deep cleaning and all it has become a little bit of a security challenge
it was four years since I bought a stainless steel kettle and cleaning it regularly was not a big challenge. I don’t know last week ,the inside bottom of the kettle had become pitch dark. I thought may be stored water has caused that( because 3 weeks we did not use it)
tried hot water, soap, brush. No use. Ok I thought now 4 years so guess it needs to be replaced. But did not have the heart to throw out to landfill. because it was working very well.
so opened a pack of citric acid and took a tsp of it and put it inside the kettle and filled with water. Switched on the kettle and forgot about it.
After some time went and opened with trepidation. What a surprise, squeaky white and clean. Thank God. such small things we can try and repair it instead of replacing them.
