Creating designer clothes

My biggest inspiration in designing is Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra, Neeta Lulla, Ritu Kapoor goes on.

Their style, colour combinations, subtle blends makes me watch them for hours and hours. never get tired of that beauty. And the latest awe is Heeramandi.

once my cousin sister and I went to Deepam in Bangalore. This was 20 years ago. Deepam was and still an elite class showroom. My cousin used to attend a lot of parties. And she always believed in wearing exclusive sarees and blouses. Those days it was not so much of a trend. A good salwar suit office wear you could get for Rs100.

seriously I have bought it and stitched it, so I know.

She asked for blouse materials and they showed us inside. All the while I was staring at the beautiful embroidery work on silk sarees. And she pulled me with her.

then he showed us shimmering blouse materials. And the price was a meter Rs.3000. And it was designed by Manish Malhotra. Wow. What a great opportunity to see that masterpiece. I asked her are you going to buy? she said yes and bought it. I was worried about if the tailor will stitch it correctly. Imagine if he spoilt it.

So that was my live encounter with the designer’s piece.

After that travelled with her many places and have seen all that the actors used to wear.

My biggest problem now is that I am not getting clothes to my style. even if I get its so so expensive. So thought it was high time I took it seriously and got into designing my own.

Been going to tailoring class since college, but tailoring and designing is totally different. that is a skill and this is an art. Let us see how far it goes.
