eating outside eats my money – my pov
today we thought we will clean the entire house, because frequent visits to farmhouse and workload there never gave us time and energy to organize things at home.
more than the organizing the mental preparation for all this is more. So I thought let’s order before cleaning. It was already 9 am. Hehe.
there is a restaurant where you get good food but damn expensive. But I justified it thinking I am going to do so much work, will order from there.
started ordering know swiggy.
one plate idli vadai rs 186 something.
Ordered 2 plates and a poori vadai.
wanted to chk the total bill. It showed 680 rs something.
the best is swiggy does not show the bill like before you have to open the small note and read it.
delivery charges was 85 rs. Because of the distance
handling charges 10
restaurant and gst charges rs. 85.
as I was pondering about ordering, it recalculated and said your charges have been revised. Ok may be he lessened something nu poi parthaa delivery charges rs.100 poiduchu and the total now because rs.700 something.
poda, for two idli vadai paying so much I felt it was a sin.
Almost went till payment and cancelled. Then too they will not leave you.
don’t worry we will not let you go hungry, He gives you one.more chance to pay. No aani for me.
I closed it.
went to the kitchen. Took half cup.paasi paruppu and half cup raw rice. Washed and poured 3 glasses water with little crystal Salt and kept in simmer flame. And started organizing.
almost 25 mins later it was perfectly cooked.
Took a pan, poured our ghee and added pepper jeera pounded powder( I always have them in stock). Added chopped ginger and curry leaves from our tiny balcony added the aroma. Poured everything on the pongal.
had a leftover of தேங்காய் thuvaiyal in the fridge. Combined this with pongal and ate.
it was like prasadham.
anything when you do with your mind concentrated and knowing the value of it, it will be divine.
rs700 something micham. Its not that I don’t want to spend on food outside, but it should be worthy of it.
now that we are into farming and growing food, we know the value of food and.money.
we don’t take anything for granted.
