Historical temples in Trichy
Samayapuram Amman
One of my favourite. Like a mother.
20-25 kms from Trichy this temple is very famous for healing eye sight, other illness.
The Amman is made of red sand, is a beautiful red face, with compassion flowing.
Before entering the temple people buy a small human body or a pair of eyes and put it in a place inside the temple.
It is believed that it will keep your body away from illness.
In April there are many festivals, one of it is Poochoridhal. The people in and around who grow flowers donate all the flowers to the Amman, I am yet to see that. Because usually it is very crowded. Just imagine the entire temple is filled with different colours of flowers.
And not to forget the fragrance.
