since we have a farmhouse and there are so many types of insects, and the nearest hospital is some 15 kms away, we try and follow as much as home remedies. And we also grow few herbs for these. I also have a stock of pepper, sunnambu [edible limestone] and we grow vetrilai.
last week some insect bit my friend. Surprised to see a red mark on her hands and it was swelling.
she wanted some first aid . So she applied vetrillai sunnambu on the place it bit, and she consumed 2 vetrilai with 3 pepper corns. Should chew them well.
continue twice a day till the swelling subsides.

there is a saying in Tamil. Paiyil 10 Milagu irundhaal pagaivan Veetil Kooda. Sapidalaamnu.
meaning if you have 10 peppercorns in your pocket, you can eat food even in your enemy house.
