Kailasanathar temple Kanchipuram – Pallava king
such a beautiful tourist spot in Kanchipuram, but it’s better to read about it in wikipedia before you go, otherwise it makes no sense. I read a little and went and could not really understand the painstakingly carved sculpture.
our culture and history is so rich. But we glorify other countries tourism spots that is so new in age when compared to us. My POV.
If I don’t glorify my country, outsiders are not going to.
it’s all about Lord Shiva and the carvings are so beautiful. They have restored many, but still many more to do. no tickets. you can just walk in. I wish they collect money and restore this beautiful part of our history.
in UK, I saw I brick wall that was broken being preserved at the middle of the community centres. when asked they said that it was a part of the history. but here so much we have and I doubt we ourselves appreciate all these.
stone sculpting is a beauty. And what I was surprised inside small shrines they have carved so beautifully. labour had a totally different dimension those days. so symmetrical and so beautiful.
Many foreigners visit, and I am sure all are wondering about the stories that these sculptures say.
I particularly loved the beautiful blue door. that colour has a history attached to it.

totally instagrammable with history. Go in a traditional attire and your pictures will be beautiful.
