Moving back from UK to Bangalore
My husband is still not so convinced about me moving back here We moved to Uk earlier for other reasons.
But for me my search for herbs and alternative medicines and temples, and cultures everything led me back to my home town.
Many asked me how I made the move. It was very difficult. And there are so many factors that you need to consider.
For me priority was staying close the family, food, temples, herbs and other resources was important.
So used to hopping on to an auto or a bus and reaching my destination. Turn any side and you find your favourite food. Buy your favourite vegetables anywhere. Visit any temples just going by any transport. Even in Bangalore this inconvenience is there. Only in Chennai I find life so easy.
Get a maid to do things, cook at your service, home delivery food or anything within 8-10 mins. We needed a HDmi cable last week and ordered on Blinkit. Within 10 mins we received it.
medicines at your call. so many… Shopping.. is one way of releasing your stress. I feel. Not necessarily to buy. just window shopping will do for me.
For people who moved a long time ago and settled anywhere other than India, I think they would have got used to everything. But when you move in newly there are a lot of challenges.
I remember when I was standing in the bus stop one cold winter evening, in London. After my office hours. Cold wind piercing me, and was so hungry. The thought of changing two buses, then walking a 200 meters, then cooking and eating…was so daunting. They say needle on a camel’s back. Slowly things started affecting me. It was stressing me out to plan so much ahead. I am a very impulsive person. For me to plan from buying vegetables, and washing and cooking was really challenging. And in the time I spent there, I never got into the habit of cooking and keeping for a week and eating. always freshly cooked food.
COVID came as a blessing in disguise I would say. Both of us sick and no one to help was the needle. Ofcourse both of us got a transfer to our respective companies in India.
You will not believe how much I was relieved. Help for everything, and deliveries to the house. for almost two years I was asking my husband, we really in India?
The jewel on the crown was our farmland. It was a barren land and what struggles we went through to convert into a lush place that it is today. I think that I have found my calling…
