pav bhaji – healthy north Indian snack

40 years ago, i first tasted pav bhaji in Calcutta. Opp to Victoria palace there was a vendor selling kulfj and pav bhaji.

it was late evening and our mama took us to visit the palace and then we had this.

though i was young to understand different tastes, this was too good. Some part of the taste stuck and still lingered and I started comparing this to wherever i ate this. Pale in comparison.

when i visited bombay and had pav bhaji, to an extent it matched. Almost 75 percent. But still something was missing.

but after that things are going south. Not one restaurant or eatery offers good stuff.

even the north Indian joints here in bangalore.

I am.sick of ordering this everywhere and getting disappointed.

too much of oil, too much of.spices.

so made my own version

Atleast I know its healthy.

oil butter, onions, capsicum, tomatoes, carrot, beans, capsicum, beans, ( fresh Peas was not available so did not add), ginger, chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric, crystal salt.

to make it more nourishing added a tsp of white sesame seeds.

when yoi eat pav bun with this, do not forget to add fresh chopped onion, lemon sqeezed, and a dash of coriander.

I did not saute the pav on butter because it will become too difficult to digest at night.
