Pillaiyar Suli and Sree Rama Jayam

Recently this was in discussion on X. A person from the US asked someone to explain the meaning of this symbol and text which was on a Maths book gifted to him by his Professor.
It brought a smile to me.
we in Tamilnadu, always wrote the Pillaiyar Suli on top of the paper when we started to write anything that is important. Pillaiyar is Lord Ganesha and this symbol symbolises the Ganesha in the Tamil Language. We invoked Ganesha’s blessings in whatever we wrote.
Rather drew it on top of all our answer sheets in the exam.
Many just drew this, and had a blank look on their faces. There are many jokes in exams regarding this. Like the teacher says to the student who has just put the symbol on the paper and is wondering what to write, “you cannot clear the exam if you just put this, you should write something”. There are students who just wrote this and submitted the papers. Seriously.
But with technology, we lost papers, we lost these beliefs, our ability to write literally, to think. my POV.

Sree Ramam Jeyam is another text that we write regularly when we have a wish to be fulfilled. 1008 times, or a page everyday. Or even few lines.
I am an ardent believer of Ganesha and have experienced the miracles that he has done in my life. I write Saranam Ganesa in Tamil, which means that I surrender to you Ganesha.
Brought back memories when I saw the post on X and thanks to God for bringing this up.
