Turmeric and Tamilnadu festivals and functions

many think.turmeric powder as just an everyday use in cooking and ususlly we never value things when we get it easily.

inTamilnadu, we take turmeric seriously.

there are still women who take bath with turmeric powder. I use our turmeric powder for both cooking and as a scrubber. Because I believe what I put inside my stomach i should use on my skin too.

in Taminadu, when a women attains puberty we give her a turmeric bath. The water is filled in a huge bronze vessel and sun treated

meaning kept in the sun and few neem leaves are added to it.

then the water which is tepid, is mixed with turmeric and the girl is given bath.

so anyone can take it from the vessel while they are chasing. All kids, youngsters will play only with turmeric powder. No colours.
